Pedro Sánchez has been the President of the Government of Spain since June 2018 and serves as the Secretary General of the PSOE since July 2014, having been elected through an internal primary process. In addition to political leadership, Pedro Sánchez has contributed as an intermittent international expert for the National Democratic Institute since 2009, engaging in electoral observation and seminars on governance. Academically, Pedro Sánchez is a professor of Economics at Universidad Camilo José Cela, specializing in Economic Structure and the History of Economic Thought, and previously held a parliamentary role as a member of the Congress of Deputies from 2009 to 2016, where notable contributions included leadership of the Socialist Parliamentary Group. Educational credentials include a PhD in Economics from Universidad Camilo José Cela and a Master's in EU Economics & Politics from Université libre de Bruxelles.
