Lauren Kavanagh is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in policy-oriented research and evaluation. Currently serving as a Senior Research Officer at the National Disability Authority since August 2023, Lauren provides evidence-based advice on disability policy and practice. Previously, as a Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist at the Centre for Effective Services, Lauren led projects focusing on education, early childhood care, and human rights. A former Policy Analyst at OECD, Lauren contributed to transnational education initiatives. Earlier roles include Research Associate at the Educational Research Centre, and occasional academic positions at Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University. Lauren began career endeavors as a Rehabilitation Assistant and a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at University College Dublin. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University College Dublin.

National Disability Authority
The National Disability Authority is the lead state agency on disability issues and is charged with promoting and helping to secure the rights of persons with disabilities. The Authority plays a vital role in advising Government on disability policy, research and standards and ensures the continued monitoring of implementation of standards and services.
