John Lowe is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the Director of the Global Center for Health Security at the University of Nebraska Medical Center since November 2011. In addition to this role, John holds multiple titles, including Interim Chair of the Department of Environmental, Agricultural and Occupational Health, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Security Training and Education, and Professor. John also directs research for the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, contributes as a Council Member for the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, and serves as a Co-Primary Investigator at the National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center. With a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences focused on Biosecurity and Emerging Infectious Diseases, and significant expertise in virology, John has coordinated numerous disaster training exercises to enhance emergency preparedness across Nebraska.
