Melissa Matos

Melissa Matos has a diverse work experience, including roles such as Chief of Staff at the National Employment Law Project since 2021. Previously, they served as the National Director for Education, Human Rights, Health & Safety at the Communications Workers of America from 2014 to 2021. Before that, they worked as a Political & Legislative Counsel at the American Postal Workers Union from 2013 to 2014. Melissa also gained experience as a Legal Intern at the City of New York's Department of Health and as a Legal Extern at Mercy in 2011. Melissa started their career as a Legal Intern in the Public Benefits Department at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri in 2009 and later served as the Interim Director at the Council on American Islamic Relations - MO from 2007 to 2008.

Melissa Matos has a Juris Doctor degree with a Health Law Certificate from Saint Louis University School of Law, which they completed in 2012. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained a Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy from the Department of Health Management and Policy at Saint Louis University. Prior to that, Melissa completed their undergraduate studies in History and Political Science at Florida International University in 2007. In 2015, they also obtained certification as a Myers Briggs Certified Practitioner from The Myers-Briggs Company.
