Lani Babin, CMP has extensive work experience in event planning and management. Lani was the Director of Travel & Events at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) from 2005 to 2011 and again from 2014 to the present. In this role, they provided internal consultation for various NFIB departments regarding meetings, special events, and travel programs. Lani was responsible for logistics and operations, including site selection, budget management, contract negotiations, and on-site management. Prior to their work at NFIB, they served as a Consultant at the Republican National Committee, Associate Director for Delegate Activity at the Republican National Convention in 2004, Director of External Affairs at the Center for Educational Performance and Information, and Executive Director at the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. Lani also worked as a Senior Professional Staff Member at the U.S Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and as an Administrative Coordinator at NFIB. Lani started their career as a Legislative Aide/Staff Assistant for U.S Senator Mitch McConnell.

Lani Babin, CMP, began their education in 1989 at Centre College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Government in 1993. Following their time at Centre College, Lani attended Presentation Academy. It is unclear when they attended Presentation Academy or what degree or field of study they pursued there. In 2011, Lani obtained their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification from the Events Industry Council.
