Thomas Brainerd

VP, Marketing at National Funding

Thomas Brainerd has held a wide variety of marketing roles over the past five decades. In 1968, they spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Dangila, Ethiopia, teaching English to seventh and eighth graders. Thomas also undertook a summertime project of smallpox and TB vaccinations as part of UNICEF's worldwide programs. From 1993 to 2005, they were self-employed as an independent contractor in Scottsdale, AZ, working closely with clients to develop appropriate strategies, targeting, and tactics to ensure the success of marketing efforts. Thomas also developed new business opportunities for DMW Worldwide, generating annual billings in excess of $8 million. From 2005 to 2008, they served as VP of Marketing for National Funding, where they planned and directed a budget of $6 million while driving programs that tripled the company's sales in two years. Thomas managed a staff of 8 experienced marketing professionals to deliver direct mail, internet, telemarketing, web, vendor, and promotional strategies. After a 3-year hiatus, they returned to National Funding in 2012 as VP of Marketing to expand the mail program and generate leads for the sales force.

Thomas Brainerd earned a B.A in English Lit. from Lehigh University between 1964 and 1968. Thomas then went on to obtain an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School between 1971 and 1973.
