Craig James

Craig James is a seasoned professional in the gas transmission industry with extensive experience at both National Gas and National Grid. Currently serving as Regional Director at National Gas since February 2023, Craig is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient transmission of gas across the West of Great Britain. Craig's previous roles at National Grid included Interim Director of System Operations, Head of National Control, Head of Operational Delivery, Physical Operations Manager, and Gas Network Control Manager, where responsibilities encompassed the authorization of maintenance activities and operational risk management. Additionally, Craig has been involved in key physical operations roles, leading the Gas National Control Centre and contributing to the design and implementation of the National Grid's Gas Transmission SCADA System. Craig holds a PhD in Ferroelectrics and a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Leeds.
