Betty Chu is the Director of Digital & Social at National Geographic. Betty has over a decade of experience in content production, digital marketing, and product management.

Betty started their career in content production, working on digital and social media campaigns for HBO. In their role as Senior Producer, they led a team of producers and oversaw the development of complex interactive experiences from concept to launch. Betty also managed the migration of 20,000+ pages of content to a new HBO.com platform.

In addition to content production, Betty has extensive experience in digital marketing and CRM. Betty has worked on lead generation and user retention campaigns for HBO streaming platforms such as HBO NOW, HBO GO, and MAX GO. Betty has also partnered with the CRM Retention & Acquisition teams to nurture existing campaigns and expand data collection opportunities across the HBO digital landscape.

Most recently, Betty has been supporting OTT & VMVPD business development by implementing marketing & communications strategies for HBO streaming platforms and devising roadmaps for ongoing production to digital distribution storefronts.

Betty Chu earned their BA from the University of Maryland in Journalism, Art Theirtory & Archaeology. Betty also holds certification from Cornell University in Executive Leadership and Performance Leadership. Prior to their current role, Betty served as a teacher at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School and Georgetown Visitation.
