Liz Sisk is an experienced graphics professional with a strong background in scientific illustration and communication. Currently serving as an Associate Graphics Editor at National Geographic since April 2024, Liz previously worked as a Visual Science Communications Specialist at the U.S. Geological Survey, collaborating with researchers to create impactful visual content for environmental and climate studies. Liz also operated as a Freelance Scientific Illustrator, producing illustrations for prestigious institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History and the University of Georgia. In addition, Liz gained experience as a Graphic Designer at Glassroth Creative Strategies, focusing on professional designs for various media, and as a Resident Assistant at the University of Georgia, engaging a community of over 1,200 students. Educationally, Liz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Scientific Illustration with a focus on Entomology from the University of Georgia, further complemented by experience as Exhibit Director for the Eating Insects Athens Conference and an internship at the National Museum Of Natural History.
