Michael G. Lappin

Michael Lappin is a seasoned professional in the field of production and imaging, currently serving as a Senior Production Manager at National Geographic Partners since October 2005. Responsibilities include liaising between the editorial staff of National Geographic Magazine and the printing plant, working closely with photographers to optimize RAW camera files, and conducting on-site press approvals. Lappin has held various roles in production, including Print Quality Assurance Manager and Imaging Technician. Prior experience includes instructing Adobe Photoshop at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University and serving as Director at IMIA, as well as owning Just Imagine Photo. Earlier career roles involved color retouching for high-end fashion catalogs at Quebecor World and operating a Chromacom system at Applied Graphics Technologies. Lappin holds a degree from the New York Institute of Technology, completed between 1976 and 1981.
