Mark M. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Mark is currently the Director of Data and Digital Innovation at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Director of Data and Digital Innovation at the same agency from 2021 to 2023.
Mark M. has also held leadership roles at IMAPS, LLC, where they were the Co-founder and President. Mark was responsible for providing technology products and services to the aeronautical and maritime communities, including web-based subscription services and chart production. Mark worked at IMAPS from 2000 onwards.
In addition, Mark M. has served as a Distinguished Fellow at Washington University McKelvey School of Engineering in 2021 and as a Principal in Technical Business Development at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2020 to 2021.
Earlier in their career, Mark M. held various roles at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, including Chief Technology Officer/Deputy CIO-T, Office Director, and Managerial and Technical positions. Mark also worked as a Software Engineer at NOAA and as a Technical Director at Northrop Grumman.
Throughout their career, Mark M. has demonstrated expertise in data innovation, digital technologies, and software development. Mark has successfully implemented systems and solutions that have resulted in significant cost savings and increased efficiency for the organizations they have worked for.
Mark M. attended Harvard Kennedy School in 2018 for Executive Education in the field of Senior Leaders in Government. Prior to that, they attended Southeast Missouri State University from 1986 to 1990, although their degree and field of study are unspecified. In terms of additional certifications, Mark obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in 2020 and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2020.
