Matt Klaric

Chief Data Scientist at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Matt Klaric, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles related to data science, analytics, and geospatial intelligence. Matt has worked at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) since 2015, where they served as the Chief Data Scientist and led the Predictive and Forensic Analytics Division. Matt also held the position of Program Integration Lead and provided scientific guidance to NGA's Artificial Intelligence, Automation, and Augmentation (AAA) CFT. In addition, Matt had a joint duty assignment to the OSD Strategic Capabilities Office and served as an R&D Scientist in NGA Research. During their time at NGA, they contributed to the creation of the xView computer vision dataset, which has been widely used in the field.

Matt also worked at the United States Department of Defense, where they were a Program Manager at the OSD Strategic Capabilities Office. In this role, they managed a portfolio of programs focused on integrating AI technologies to counter emerging threats.

Prior to their government positions, Matt worked at the University of Missouri as an Assistant Research Professor and Research Assistant. Matt conducted cutting-edge research in geospatial intelligence, database technologies, and web-enabled information services. In addition, they worked as an Instructor at the university.

Matt also has experience in the private sector, having served as the Managing Member of Terra 4D Systems, LLC. This diverse background demonstrates their expertise in data science, geospatial intelligence, and AI technologies, making him a valuable asset in various industries.

Matt Klaric, PhD obtained their Honors B.S. in Computer Science from Saint Louis University in 2003. Following this, they pursued their Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia, completing it in 2010. Before their undergraduate studies, Matt attended DeSmet Jesuit HS, although the specific dates and any degrees earned during this period are undisclosed.
