Office Director Of The Foundational Geoint Office For Research at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Monte Turner has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Monte began their career in 1987 at the USAF Astronautics Laboratory as the Manager of Energetic Physics Technology. Monte then worked as a Principal Investigator at the USAF Phillips Laboratory from 1990 to 1993. In 1996, they joined the Air Force Research Laboratory as the Commanders Representative until 1999. At the US Department of Defense, Monte served as a Program Manager from 1999 to 2003. Monte then joined DARPA as a Program Manager until 2011. Monte worked at the Air Force Research Laboratory again, starting in 2011, as the Program Chief Scientist until 2016. Monte then became the Strategic S&T Advisor, a position they held until 2019. In 2019, Monte joined the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as the Chief Technologist for Research, and in 2021, they became the Office Director of the Foundational GEOINT Office for Research.

Monte Turner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the United States Air Force Academy in 1985. Monte then completed a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology in 1990. Later, from 1993 to 1996, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Engineering Physics with a specialization in Laser Physics from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology. In 2016, they obtained a Master's degree in National Resource Strategy and Policy from the National Defense University.
