Gerard Kelly

Gerard Kelly serves as Vice President of Innovation and Venture Acceleration at National Grid since 2022, where also holds the title of Director of Innovation at National Grid Partners, leading the UK Innovation team. Kelly's entrepreneurial spirit shines through as CEO and Co-founder of Upya Technologies, an Innovate-UK backed SaaS start-up focused on providing digital solutions to emerging markets. Previous experience includes consulting roles at The Boston Consulting Group, offering expertise in growth strategy and operational transformation, as well as positions at Bell Labs Alcatel-Lucent, Life Technologies, and MB Dynamics. Kelly holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.Eng (1st, Hons) from the University of Limerick, and is a Chartered Engineer and Project Management Professional.
