Eric Mendelsohn

Eric Mendelsohn is the current President & CEO at National Health Investors. Eric has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, specializing in transactions and development.

Mendelsohn began their career as a transaction officer at the University of Washington in 2000. Eric later became a transaction lead and counsel at Sound Transit. In 2006, they joined Emeritus Senior Living as Senior VP of Corporate Development. During their time at Emeritus, Mendelsohn was responsible for driving accelerated growth and market expansion. Eric managed a large team to build and maintain an acquisition, financing and development pipeline of $1 billion - $3 billion dollars annually. In 2015, they led the transaction team to consummate a $5.7 billion merger with Brookdale Senior Living Solutions.

Some of Mendelsohn's key accomplishments include orchestrating a business partnership with Blacktsone private equity and accelerating financing and licensing for a 144 building (Sunwest), multi-location transaction worth $1.4 billion dollars. Eric has also built relationships with more than 40 credible lending institutions and professional service firms to optimize timing and market opportunities.

Eric Mendelsohn attended American University, earning a BS in International Relations. Eric then went on to law school at Pepperdine, earning their JD. After law school, they attended Boston University School of Law, where they earned an LLM in Banking and Finance.
