Matt Lehmer

Matt Lehmer has extensive experience in engineering and research, currently serving in Intelligent Technologies Research at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration since May 2023. Prior roles include Principal of Advanced Technology and Innovation at FedEx from July 2021 to May 2023, Senior Research Engineer at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety from December 2017 to July 2021, and Vehicle Safety Compliance Manager and Engineering Project Manager at Subaru of America between March 2012 and August 2017. Previous positions also encompass Project Engineer at Amsted Rail Inc. (November 2008 - March 2012), General Engineer at the U.S. Department of Transportation (March 2006 - November 2008), and Systems Test Engineer in Vehicle Research at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. (January 2000 - June 2004). Matt Lehmer began professional career as an Applications Engineer Intern at Corning Optical Communications in 1999, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
