Matthew Craig has a diverse work experience in the automotive industry. Matthew started their career at General Motors in 2001 as a Safety Performance Integration Team Leader and worked there until 2007. In 2007, they joined the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as a Mechanical Engineer and later became the Chief of Human Injury Research. Currently, they are working as a Senior Advisor (detail) at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology.

Matthew Craig has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Matthew has also pursued higher education at Wayne State University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Engineering.
