Nathaniel Elkins-Brown, MA, PhD, is a Research Psychologist at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since January 2022. Prior to this role, Nathaniel served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington State University from September 2018 to January 2022, collaborating with Dr. Lois James to explore safety, performance, decision-making, and racial bias in shift work professions, particularly among nurses and police officers. Nathaniel's academic journey includes a Master's and Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Psychology and Affective Neuroscience from the University of Toronto (2013-2019), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience from Sarah Lawrence College (2008-2012). Additionally, Nathaniel studied at the University of Oxford in 2010-2011 and attended The Lawrenceville School from 2004 to 2008.
