Philip Chuang

Board Member at NHPCO

Philip Chuang is currently a board member at NHPCO. Prior to that, they spent 12 years as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Sutter Health. In that role, they were responsible for defining the strategy for home and community-based services, including home health, hospice, DME, infusion pharmacy, advanced illness management, wellness services, and PACE. Philip also oversaw the decision support/business analytics, marketing, and community relations (sales) teams. In addition, they provided executive operations oversight for two business lines: Sutter SeniorCare and Flu and Wellness.

Philip has a long history of success in strategy and business development. Philip has a proven track record of developing projects and plans to achieve objectives, as well as managing a strategic project portfolio. Philip is skilled in partnering with business line leadership to identify and execute projects which ensure achievement of annual priorities and strategic goals. This includes experience with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures.

Philip's experience in overseeing two business lines - Sutter SeniorCare and Flu and Wellness - has given him a well-rounded understanding of how businesses operate. Philip has a deep understanding of the needs of both customers and employees, and is able to create strategies that meet the needs of both.

Philip Chuang has a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Business Administration in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Philip Chuang is also a Fellow in Biomedical Informatics at the National Library of Medicine.
