Staff Attorney-detention Project at National Immigrant Justice Center

Marwa Jumma, Esq. is an experienced attorney currently serving in the Detention Project at the National Immigrant Justice Center since July 2023. Previously, Marwa held the position of Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Brian A. Seyfried from September 2021 to July 2023. Prior experience includes working as an Appeals Hearing Officer in the Unemployment Division from December 2020 to May 2021, and as a Civil Rights Fellow at CAIR-Chicago from May 2019 to December 2019. Marwa also interned as a Law Clerk at the Gordon and Pikarski Law Firm in the summer of 2017. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in U.S. International and Transnational Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, along with a Bachelor's degree in Law from Damascus University, and a training program in Public Administration from the Institut national d'Administration.
