Linton Joaquin

Linton Joaquin is an experienced legal professional with a robust background in immigration law and advocacy. Currently serving as General Counsel at the National Immigration Law Center since November 1990, Linton has played a significant role in shaping immigration policy and providing legal support. Previously, Linton held the position of Executive Director at CARECEN Los Angeles from September 1983 to September 1988, where leadership in immigrant rights initiatives was emphasized. Linton began the legal career as a staff attorney with the United Farm Workers of America from January 1977 to March 1979, focusing on the rights of farmworkers. Linton earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from U.C. Berkeley Law School from 1973 to 1976.
