Curtis M. Anderson

Curtis M. Anderson has a long and varied work experience. In 1995, they were the CFO and General Counsel for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, managing all financial, human resource, and legal programs for the association and its affiliate. In 2002, they became the Deputy Administrator of the U.S.D.A. Rural Utilities Service, helping to develop Farm Bill Broadband Loan and Loan Guarantee Regulations and Community Connect Broadband Grant Regulations. Curtis M. also served as International Justice for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International from 2002 to 2004. From 2009 to 2013, Anderson was the VP and General Counsel for MELE Associates, Inc. specializing in support for the National Nuclear Security Administration's Global Threat Reduction Initiative, Telecommunications Consulting, and Renewable Energy Systems. Anderson then founded Curtis M. Anderson Consulting in 2013, serving as President and Consultant. In 2017, they became the Chief of Staff of the U.S.D.A. Rural Housing Service. From 2021 to 2022, Anderson was a Strategic Advisor and Business Consultant for their own company, as well as a Business Consultant for a period of temporary retirement. Currently, they are the Chief Financial Officer of the National Industrial Hemp Council of America.

Curtis M. Anderson began their educational journey at Robert E. Lee Senior High School in Houston, TX, from 1972 to 1975. Curtis M. then attended The Faculty of Arts and Sciences to obtain a B.A in economics from 1975 to 1979. During the same period, Anderson also attended the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance and Commerce and received a B.S. in Accounting. Finally, Anderson attended the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and obtained a J.D in Law from 1979 to 1982. Additionally, Anderson holds a certification as a Life and Health Insurance Agent from the State Insurance Commission.
