Shigetoshi Eda has an extensive background in academia and research, currently holding positions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, serving as the Co-Chair of the Chronic Wasting Disease Working Group. With a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Science, they have held various roles such as Adjunct Professor, Professor, and Associate Professor in departments related to microbiology, forestry, wildlife, and fisheries. Eda also has experience as a Senior Personnel at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis and as a Guest Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. They have previously worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Riverside.
