Shama Bernard is an Assistant Economist at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) since July 2023. Previously, Shama served as a Chartered Accountant Trainee at P G BHAGWAT LLP from August 2018 to August 2021, where Shama was involved in multiple statutory and tax audit assignments and contributed to the implementation of the Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS). Shama holds a Master's degree in Economics, Banking and Finance from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
