Emmanuel Planas is an experienced professional in the field of informatics and international relations, currently serving as the Acting Director of the Global Liaison Office at the National Institute of Informatics since April 2018. Prior to this role, Emmanuel worked as a Research Associate at Laboratoire d'Informatique de Nantes Atlantique from September 2010 to March 2018 and as a Lecturer at Université Catholique de l'Ouest during the same period. Previous experience includes serving as Research Director at Lingua-et-Machina, where Emmanuel developed a second-generation Translation Memory software called Similis, as well as founding and leading the company from 2002 to 2007. Early in the career, Emmanuel held various roles in research and consultancy, including positions at NTT Communications, Xerox, and the United Nations University, culminating in a Doctorate in Informatics from Université Joseph Fourier in 1998.
