Mikiko Tanifuji currently serves as Deputy Director and Project Researcher Specialist at the Research Center for Open Science and Data Platform at the National Institute of Informatics since November 2022. Prior to this role, Mikiko held various positions at the National Institute for Materials Science from May 2005 to October 2022, including Managing Director of the Materials Dataplatform Center and the Scientific Information Office, focusing on data platform systems and digital library development. Earlier experience includes serving as Associate Executive Director at the Institute of Pure and Applied Physics from 1988 to 2005, emphasizing journal publishing and digital content expansion. Mikiko Tanifuji earned a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Nihon University.
