Michael Christman

Advisor at National Insurance Crime Bureau

Mr. Christman is Assistant Director of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, W.Va. He became an Advisor to the NICB Board of Governors in 2021.

Prior to his March 2021 CJIS appointment, Mr. Christman served as the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh Division from May 2020 to March 2021. Mr. Christman joined the FBI as a special agent in the Salt Lake City Division (February 1992) and later moved to the Cleveland Division (September 1997). In February 2005, he was promoted to the supervisory special agent and assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In June 2007, Mr. Christman moved to the Pittsburgh Division, where he supervised violent crime, violent gang, drug, and organized crime programs. He was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh Division’s Criminal, Intelligence, and Administrative Programs in February 2014. Following, other positions he held included section chief of a Cyber Operations Section at FBI Headquarters and deputy assistant director of the CJIS Division's Operational Programs Branch. Prior to his appointment with the FBI, he worked for the City of Akron, Ohio, Prosecutor's Office.

Mr. Christman holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron.
