Coach Education Manager, DEI Initiatives at National Interscholastic Cycling Association

Diana, a California native, has been involved with NICA since the inaugural season of the Maryland Interscholastic Cycling League (MICL) in 2018. Diana has served as a level 3 coach, coach supporter, GRiT coordinator, chief course marshal and Associate League Director. She was responsible for establishing Maryland’s GRiT ambassador program and also founded the state’s first Little Bellas chapter. She served as the Little Bellas Elkridge program lead for 3 years. She is a certified level 2 coach with the Professional Mountain Bike Instructor’s Association and is also a professional bicycle technician. Diana has also been involved in the bicycle industry as a brand ambassador for Liv Cycling and Kona Bicycles. She is currently a member of Revel Bikes Community Collective and a Cane Creek Components sponsored athlete. Diana has experience racing in a wide range of bike disciplines and has raced enduro professionally.

Diana has a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside and M.A. degrees in both Molecular Biology and Secondary Education from Johns Hopkins University. She comes to NICA with 12 years of high school teaching experience and prior military service. Diana has 2 children and continues to reside in Maryland. She is extremely passionate about working with children, empowering people through mountain biking and making the sport more accessible for all people.
