Lara Burt

Lara Burt, LICSW, currently serves as a Senior Program Specialist for Early Childhood Success at the National League of Cities since January 2023. Previously, Lara held roles as a School Social Worker and Data Coordinator at AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School from July 2017 to January 2023. Earlier experience includes a Social Work Graduate Intern position with Youth & Opportunity United and a Family-Centered Social Policy Graduate Intern role at New America, where research and writing focused on education and equity issues. Lara's background also includes various internships, such as working as a Student Recruiter at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and a Research Intern at the Migration Policy Institute, contributing to research on immigrant education. Lara holds a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago and has a strong foundation in international studies and development.
