Lesli Caldwell

Lesli Caldwell has extensive experience in public defense and legal advocacy, serving as the Liaison to the ABA Criminal Justice Standards Committee for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association since February 2014 and as a member of the Legislation Committee for the California Public Defenders Association since February 2019. Caldwell has also volunteered as the Director of Advocacy for NAMI Solano since February 2020. Prior to retirement in December 2018, Lesli Caldwell served as the Solano County Public Defender from July 2010 and worked as a Public Defender IV in Contra Costa County from 1980 to 2007, handling criminal defense cases. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law (1976-1979) and a degree in Sociology, Criminology, and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley (1973-1976).
