Trevor Birenbaum is an experienced educator and instructor specializing in competition mathematics. Currently serving as a Competition Mathematics Instructor at Art of Problem Solving since August 2021, Trevor instructs advanced algebra, number theory, and geometry courses for high-achieving middle and high school students. Trevor’s previous roles include writing tests for the National Mu Alpha Theta and coaching students in Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus at American Heritage Schools, achieving a >90% AP Exam pass rate in AP Statistics. With extensive research experience at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, along with a foundational background in emergency medical care as a Fire Rescue Cadet with Broward Sheriff's Office, Trevor holds a Master of Financial Engineering from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Mathematics from the University of Miami.

Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society. Formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma, we are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. The organization of mathematics clubs serves over 112,000 student members in more than 2300 schools in the United States and 20 foreign countries. Offering more than $300,000 in scholarships, grants, awards, and prizes yearly, we would love to support your math club and talented math students.
