Claire Champion is an experienced professional in the museum and cultural heritage sector, currently serving as Deputy Registrar at the National Museum of Australia since November 2020, where roles have included A/g Deputy Registrar and A/g Manager, Registration. Prior to this, Claire spent a decade at the Australian War Memorial, holding multiple positions including Project Officer for the Hazards Management Project and Object Conservator. Claire's earlier career includes work as a Conservator and Collection Assistant with Q-Station from 2007 to 2009. Academically, Claire holds a Master's degree in Cultural Material Conservation from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on History, Art History, and Heritage Studies from the University of Sydney, with additional coursework in Chemistry and Fine Furniture Making.
