The Role

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis at our Bundall office. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the smooth financial function of our business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all accounting transactions with accuracy and efficiency

  • Administer accounts receivable processes, including sales contract management, invoice issuance, and revenue collection

  • Handle accounts payable processes from data entry and payment through to reconciliation

  • Process weekly payroll and manage payroll-related tasks, such as superannuation and payroll tax lodgements

  • Perform daily reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts

  • Manage sales and contract administration, utilising Salesforce for processing and reporting

  • Support the month-end close procedures and assist with reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly activity statements

  • Calculate monthly commissions

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and systems improvements

  • Provide general office administrative support, including answering inbound calls

About you

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance
  • Prior experience using Xero is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets at an intermediate level
