Cayla Dean is an accomplished outreach specialist and coastal scientist currently employed at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) since February 2019. With a strong academic background, Cayla earned a PhD in Oceanography, Chemical and Physical from Nova Southeastern University, where a Master of Science in Marine Biology was also obtained. Previous experience includes serving as a research assistant at Nova Southeastern University, tutoring students at Sylvan Learning Center and Coastal Carolina University, and working in various roles at NOAA Restoration Center and Mote Marine Laboratory. Throughout the career, a focus on marine sciences and effective communication in educational settings has been evident.
