Shallin Busch currently serves as the Director of the Conservation Biology Division at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center, a position held since December 2014, with previous roles as Acting Director and Deputy Director. Busch started at NOAA in 2007 as a Research Ecologist and has extensive experience in studying ocean acidification, including building a dedicated research program and conducting experiments on Puget Sound fauna. Prior to joining NOAA, Busch worked as a Research Associate in the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Washington and an AB in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University.
