Steve Edmondson is a highly experienced professional in habitat conservation and environmental protection, with a career spanning over four decades. Presently retired since April 2025, Edmondson held significant roles at NOAA Fisheries, including Assistant Regional Administrator for Habitat Conservation in the Southwest Region, where responsibilities included administering habitat programs and overseeing regulatory and restoration initiatives. Previous positions included serving as Southwest Regional Habitat Manager and leading a team as Fish Biologist Team Leader, focusing on marine and aquatic habitat restoration and compliance with environmental laws. Additional experience was gained as an Environmental Protection Officer with the Bureau of Reclamation and as an Environmental Protection Specialist with both the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the US EPA. Edmondson holds a Master of Science degree in Aquatic Ecology from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Marine Biology from the University of Maryland.
