William Mowitt

William Mowitt serves as the Director of the NOAA Uncrewed Systems Operations Center, where efforts focus on integrating uncrewed aircraft, surface vessels, and underwater craft into NOAA's science, service, and stewardship missions. Previous roles include Deputy Director of the same center, Commanding Officer of NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow, and Congressional Fellow for Senator Mark Begich. William's extensive NOAA career also features leadership positions on various ships and in program coordination. Educational credentials include a BA in History from Williams College, an MPA from American University, an MS in Marine Environmental Science from the University of Maryland, and a Public Leadership Credential from Harvard Kennedy School.
