Shalin Joshi is an accomplished computer engineering student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, actively engaged in numerous technology and engineering initiatives. Currently serving as a Technology Committee Member for the National Organization for Business and Engineering, Shalin is developing a microexpression facial recognition app utilizing AI and machine learning, which has transitioned into a startup called PsychAItrist. As a Software Developer for Project:Code, Shalin focuses on creating an apartment searching website for students, employing front-end technologies such as JavaScript and React.js. Involvement with the Illini Solar Car includes designing electrical components and utilizing evolution algorithms for performance analysis. Previous experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Thales Defense & Security involved improving software infrastructure and updating legacy systems. Leadership roles in high school included Team Captain of the FIRST Robotics Competition team, securing prestigious awards and qualifications. Shalin also shared coding skills with younger students as a Code Sensei at Code Ninjas.
