Kati Schmidt serves as the Director of Communications for the National Parks Conservation Association, a role held since November 2011 after being promoted from Associate Director of Communications. In this capacity, Kati spearheads the communications strategy and media outreach for various regional offices, focusing on wildlife issues and advocacy efforts across the western United States. Kati has a strong background in public relations, having previously worked as the Public Relations Manager for both The Bay Institute and the Aquarium of the Bay, and as a marketing committee chair for the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival. Earlier career experiences include roles at Burson-Marsteller and The Larose Group, where Kati developed and executed communications programs for diverse clients. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, and Public Relations from California State University, Chico.
