Zach Ragbourn

Deputy Vice President, Communications at National Parks Conservation Association

Zach Ragbourn has a diverse range of work experience in the field of communications. Zach began their career as a Communications Intern at The NEA Foundation in 2003. Zach then worked as a Communications Coordinator and later an Assistant Director of Communications at Brady from 2005 to 2007. Zach then served as the Communications Director for Representative Betty Sutton in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2007. From 2008 to 2009, they worked at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, first as an Online Communications Contractor and then as the Deputy Director of Online Communications. In 2009, Zach briefly worked as a Temporary Associate in eCampaigns at M+R.

In 2009, Zach joined Education Voters of America as the Online Communications Manager, where they managed all aspects of online communications. Zach then moved to Alliance for Justice as the Media Relations and Online Communications Manager in 2011. Zach took on a role at Sierra Club in 2012 as the Senior Online Organizer for Beyond Coal and later became the Manager of Online Organizing Special Projects. In 2015, they joined M+R as a Senior Strategist, leading online advocacy and strategic development for clients.

Zach's most recent work experience is at the National Parks Conservation Association. Zach started in 2017 as the Associate Director of Digital Outreach and then progressed to become the Director of Digital Communications. In 2021, they were promoted to Senior Director of Communications & Engagement, and as of 2023, they hold the position of Deputy Vice President of Communications. In this role, they oversee various communication roles and leads strategies for social media, online advocacy, and multimedia outreach, with a focus on integrating communication tactics into policy campaigns.

Throughout their career, Zach has demonstrated expertise in digital communications, online engagement, strategic messaging, and staff management.

Zach Ragbourn has a Master of Arts degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Montana.
