John Reaves Whitaker has a diverse range of work experience in the field of human resources. John Reaves has served as the EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at National Partners In Healthcare since June 2020. In addition, they host a podcast called "HR Hardball" since October 2020, where they discuss various workplace topics. John Reaves is also a Member Of The Board Of Advisors at the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business since February 2021.
Prior to their current positions, John held various roles such as Chief Storyteller at Fistful of Talent since June 2013, and Senior Human Resources Consultant at Breaker Group, LLC since November 2008. In these roles, they worked with healthcare, energy, education, and consumer products companies, providing consulting services in areas such as executive coaching, staffing systems, social media recruiting, and talent management.
John has also held leadership positions in other organizations such as Sage Dental, where they served as SVP and Chief People Officer from August 2019 to February 2021, and DentalOne Partners, where they were Vice President of Talent Acquisition from May 2016 to August 2019.
Before joining the dental industry, John worked at Baylor Scott & White Health as the Director of Talent Acquisition for the Health Texas Provider Network from October 2015 to May 2016. John Reaves also has experience as a human resources and staffing consultant at Avalanche Biotechnologies, Inc. and Genentech.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in areas such as executive coaching, workforce planning, cultural integration, recruitment and selection, and performance management. John Reaves has also been involved in keynote delivery, facilitation, and content design.
John Reaves Whitaker has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University. John Reaves also holds a CPE degree in Leadership from the Wharton Business School, obtained between 1999 and 2004. In addition, they completed a Professional Coaching program with a focus on Organizational Behavior Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas in 2012-2013. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive MBA in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia at Oregon State University, expected to be completed between 2021 and 2023. Whitaker has obtained various certifications such as Analytics for Talent Management and Strategic Talent Acquisition from the Human Capital Institute, Finance for Non-Financial Managers from GoSkills.com, and SHRM - SCP and SHRM Senior Certified Professional from SHRM. John Reaves also holds a Certificate in Professional Education from the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School.
