Ajay is a Post Graduate in Physics and CAIIB. He started his banking career with State Bank of India. He has about 30 years of experience in banking industry. He has extensive experience of system integration during Bank mergers across multiple IT systems catering to various business segments e.g. Retail Liabilities, Retail Assets, Depository Services, Digital Banking etc. Ajay’s core expertise lies in variety of technology applications and processes for Retail Banking from core banking, digital banking, business process management and wealth management from desire to deliver.

As Senior Executive Vice President of Business Technology Group in HDFC Bank, Ajay heads the strategic function of intermediation for all retail bank business functions and technology. This group interacts with multiple business and operations functions in HDFC Bank to gather their requirements from IT applications for New Product offerings, Revenue generation, Regulatory compliance and operational efficiency to name a few and then lead the entire life cycle starting from business requirement specifications, software developments with technology partners, Software test management, implementation and functional support.
