Gareth Harries

Gareth Harries is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Head of Commercial Finance at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) since June 2025. Prior to NPL, Gareth held the position of Chief Financial Officer for UK & Ireland at GEODIS from November 2016 to January 2025, where responsibilities included overseeing financial operations during the integration of Geodis UK with OHL UK. Gareth’s earlier roles include Finance Director for the LGC Genomics Division and the LGC Health Sciences Division, where significant growth was achieved through M&A activities. Additional experience includes senior finance roles at Tomkins Plc and auditing at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Gareth Harries holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Exeter and a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from Kingston University, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
