Giovanni Mattia Lazzerini is a Senior Systems Engineer at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) since September 2012, where leadership is provided for the systems engineering team in the Time and Frequency department, focusing on future capabilities in frequency metrology. Previously, as a Higher Research Scientist at NPL, significant contributions were made in developing advanced instruments for large volume dimensional applications, including leading a multidisciplinary team for a novel space sector instrument. Additionally, achievements include upgrading atomic force microscope (AFM) technology as part of the European project "MechProNo." Prior to NPL, Giovanni served as a Post Doc Research Associate at University College London, concentrating on the optoelectrical properties of semiconducting polymers. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electronic Engineering from Università di Pisa and a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from the same institution, along with a diploma from Scuola Superiore 'Sant' Anna' di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento.
