Gokhan Bakan

Gokhan Bakan is a Senior Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory since April 2021, focusing on the Graphene Flagship Validation Service and addressing industry measurement challenges through the development of new electrical characterization capabilities. Prior to this, Gokhan served as a Research Associate at the University of Manchester, where research on tunable infrared emitters and infrared displays was conducted, and Gokhan was instrumental in establishing SmartIR Ltd. Academic roles include Assistant Professor positions at Atilim University and Antalya Bilim University, teaching Electrical Engineering and leading research on organic films and tunable photonics. Gokhan also held research positions at Bilkent University, the University of Connecticut, and internships at GE Global Research and IBM. Gokhan holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Connecticut and a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University.
