Anthony Gibson serves as a Lieutenant in the Office of Public Affairs at the City of Charleston Police Department, where responsibilities include leading the public information team, managing strategic messaging, and overseeing recruitment and grants coordination. Previously held roles include Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, Public Information Officer, and Recruitment, Selection, & Retention Supervisor. Additionally, Anthony has experience as a Patrol Sergeant, Persons Crime Detective, Property Crime Detective, Investigator, and Patrol Officer at the same department. Currently, Anthony is a Policing Fellow at the National Policing Institute and an NIJ LEADS Scholar with the National Institute of Justice, focusing on evidence-based policing. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from the American Public University System and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston.
