Jim Burch

Jim Burch is an experienced professional in the field of criminal justice and public policy, currently serving as President of the National Policing Institute since January 2019. In addition to this role, Burch has been an Adjunct Faculty member at George Mason University in the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society since 2021, and operates as Principal Consultant for The Burch Consulting Group, LLC since November 2014. Previous positions include Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Police Foundation, Assistant Director of Public & Governmental Affairs at the ATF, and Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Office of Justice Programs, alongside directing the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Jim Burch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.
