John Heins began their work experience in 2011 as a Herdsman/Intern at Cutting Edge Showpig Sires, where they assisted with semen collection and sales, as well as general facility tasks. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Swine Husbandry Educator at Zoetis, implementing swine production practices and educating caregivers. John then joined Land O'Lakes, Inc. as a Production Supervisor from 2015 to 2016. Currently, they are working at the National Pork Board since 2016, initially as a Producer and State Relationship Manager and now as a Producer & State Engagement Manager. In this role, they deliver education and certification programs to producers, serves as a liaison between the NPB and state pork associations, and ensures effective communication and adoption of key programs.

John Heins attended The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Animal Sciences.
