Laura Huff has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Laura has held various roles in both non-profit organizations and corporate companies. At National PTA, they served as the Director of Finance, overseeing accounting policies, monthly financial reporting, and payroll processes. At the Rare Genomics Institute, they volunteered as the VP of Finance & Controller, managing accounting policies, tax returns, and monthly variance reporting. Laura also served as a Finance Director and CPA for the organization. Prior to that, Laura worked at Freddie Mac, where they held positions such as Financial Management Director and Corporate Control Director. Laura was responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting at both line of business and corporate levels. Laura also played a role in process costing, expense reporting, and business change management. Before joining Freddie Mac, Laura worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Qwest Communications and as a Financial Analyst at Towers Watson (Watson Wyatt Worldwide). Laura started their career as a Senior Financial Specialist at Sallie Mae and as a Financial Reporting Accountant at LCC - A Tech Mahindra Company. Throughout their career, Laura has demonstrated expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
Laura Huff has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSAc) from the University of Florida. Laura obtained their CPA certification from the Virginia Board of Accountancy in 1993. In 2003, Laura obtained their Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Laura later earned their Certified Financial Manager (CFM) certification from IMA in 2007. In 2015, Laura obtained the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from AICPA & CIMA. Laura'smost recent certification is the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), obtained from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in 2018.
