Kellie May

Kellie May has a diverse work experience across a range of organizations. Kellie is currently serving as the Chief Partnerships Officer at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), where they oversee the strategic direction of the organization's philanthropic programs and initiatives. Prior to this role, they held positions such as Vice President, Programs and Partnerships, Director of Health and Wellness, Senior Program Manager, and Program Manager at NRPA.

Before joining NRPA, Kellie worked as an Education and Outreach Coordinator at the American Alliance for Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) from 2009 to 2010. Additionally, they gained experience as an intern at Get in the Game: Sports for Women, where they organized and planned events and marketed them to members and communities.

In their earlier career, Kellie worked as a Paralegal at Latham & Watkins, where they managed documents and support personnel for class action antitrust litigation cases. Kellie also served as an intern at the U.S. Department of State, supporting the Arms Control section.

Kellie's professional journey began at American University, where they worked as a Recreational Sports Student Supervisor, supervising games, students, and employees. Kellie also served as a How Do You Zoo? Intern at Friend of the National Zoo, where they supervised and coordinated a summer program.

Overall, Kellie May has extensive experience in program management, partnerships, strategic direction, and organizing events across different sectors.

Kellie May has a Master of Tourism Administration degree in Sport Management from The George Washington University School of Business, which they obtained from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended American University from 2002 to 2006, where they completed their undergraduate degree in International Studies, with a focus on French and European Studies. In addition to their formal education, Kellie has also obtained a certification in Coaching and Developing Employees from LinkedIn in June 2020.
